Level is the middle of the sway and Depth how far it moves either side, so a half of each reaches full volume at the peak and silence at the trough; together they should not pass 1, or the peaks are louder than what came in. Rate is the speed, and is an input as well as a knob: an LFO patched into Rate speeds the sway up and slows it down.
