Terms of use

These Terms of Service govern your use of Atmosynth ("we", "us", or "our"). If you have any questions, the operator's contact address is on the imprint.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Atmosynth, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

Account Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate registration information, maintain the security of your credentials, and promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Atmosynth to:

Bots & Automation

Automated accounts and bots are permitted provided they clearly identify themselves as automated, are non-disruptive, respect rate limits, and comply with all other terms. We reserve the right to stop showing automated accounts that violate these conditions.

User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create. Because Atmosynth is built on ATProto, your content is stored on your Personal Data Server and is public by design. By using Atmosynth, you grant us a limited license to display and cache your public ATProto content to operate the service.

You are responsible for holding the rights to everything you publish. Do not upload material protected by copyright — audio samples above all — unless you created it yourself, own it, or hold a license that permits you to publish and distribute it here; where that license carries conditions, such as attribution or a bar on commercial use, meeting them is your responsibility. Material we are told is infringing may be withheld from this site, and an account that repeatedly publishes it may stop being shown here. Because your records live in your own account rather than on our servers, deleting the material at the source is something only you can do.

Content Standards

Public content on Atmosynth should comply with Bluesky's Community Guidelines as they apply across the ATProto network. We reserve the right to withhold content that violates these standards, and to stop showing an account that does. Withholding means we cease to list or serve something here; it does not delete anything, because the record lives in its creator's own account and not on our servers.

Service Availability

Atmosynth is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding uptime or availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

ATProto & Account Portability

Because Atmosynth is built on ATProto, you are never locked in. You may migrate your account to any other compatible PDS at any time using standard ATProto migration tools. We will not prevent or obstruct account migrations.

Limitation of Liability

Atmosynth is a free service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or security breaches arising from your use of the service.

Termination

We reserve the right to stop showing your account on Atmosynth at any time for violations of these terms, which also closes the editor to you and refuses further sign-ins; where we do, we tell you the reason we recorded. Nothing you have published is deleted by that — it is untouched in your own account, which is the only place it ever lived — and we cannot terminate that account, only your PDS provider can. You may stop using Atmosynth whenever you like. Signing out deletes that browser's session; unpublished drafts stay with us until you discard them in the editor or ask us to, as the privacy policy describes.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes are indicated by an updated "Last updated" date below. Your continued use of Atmosynth after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
