Passes on every note wired into its input, moved up or down by a number of semitones: twelve is an octave up, minus seven a fifth down. Put one in front of a sound to play it higher or lower than the keys it is played from, or between a keyboard and a second sound to layer it an interval away. The number belongs to this use of the module rather than to the module, so every one in a patch has its own. A note keeps where it came from on the way through — the keyboard that played it, with that keyboard's glide, unison and arpeggiator, or the sequencer whose loop it is — and one moved past the lowest or the highest note there is is not played. Switched off, it passes every note on as it arrived.
