Pan

ATMOSYNTH built-in module

Places a sound between the two speakers: left at minus one, right at plus one, in the middle at nothing. Pan is an input as well as a knob, so an LFO patched into it sweeps the sound across and back, and Pan amount is how far. Asked to go further than hard left or hard right it stays there — the sound cannot leave the speakers.
