One-shot
ATMOSYNTH built-in module
Passes on every note wired into its input lasting one length of its own, however briefly or long the key that played it is held: put one between a pad and a drum and a tap plays the drum's whole hit, where lifting the finger used to cut it short. The sound is let go of when the length is up and then follows its own release, so a length about as long as the drum's decay plays the drum as it was made. It is how long a note lasts that changes and nothing else — each note still starts when it was struck, at its own pitch and the strength it was played with, and the same key struck again still starts it again. The length belongs to this use of the module rather than to the module, so every one in a patch has its own. A note keeps where it came from on the way through — the keyboard that played it, or the sequencer whose loop it is. Switched off, it passes every note on as it arrived.
