ATMOSYNTH built-in module

A line drawn over bars, played in time with the loops: a filter opening over a four-bar build, a pan swept across a phrase, a tape stopped at one exact moment. A lane is a whole number of bars and counts from the same downbeat every sequencer in the patch does, so its bar 1 is their bar 1 and it goes round with them however the tempo moves. Out carries the lane playing as a value from nothing to one, for any modulation input, and how far it moves what it arrives at is set there, as it is for the LFO and the knob: wired into a tape stop's Stop, a jump to one in bar 3 stops the tape there every time round. A lane is drawn as points. Between two of them the value travels in a straight line, or holds where the first one is and jumps at the second, which is what a switch is. Before the first point the lane is at the first point's value, and after the last at the last's. The block holds up to eight lanes and plays one of them, the way a sequencer holds several loops. Wire an arranger or a scenes block into its pattern input and the song chooses the lane, section by section or scene by scene, like a loop; a section that rests it leaves Out at nothing, and so does a transport that is stopped, so a block nobody is playing adds nothing to what it is wired into. The lanes belong to this use of the module rather than to the module, the way a sequencer's pattern does. It is always shared, since it is one line for the whole instrument rather than one for every note sounding.

What it is made of

The Web Audio nodes inside this module and how they are wired. Fork it to open the same graph in the editor, where every part can be changed.

A patch connects to it through audio output ‘Out’.

  • ‘lane’ is a constantSource node, set to signal lane. Its output reaches input 0 of ‘out’.
  • ‘out’ is an audio output this module declares, set to output out.

No published patch uses this module yet

When somebody publishes a patch built on it, that patch will be listed here.
