S-Shaper
ATMOSYNTH built-in module
An S-curve laid across the sound: quiet parts pass almost as they came, loud ones lean over instead of clipping, and the leaning over is where harmonics that were not there come from. Drive is how hard the sound is pushed into the curve — low is clean and a little quieter, high is thick and close to a square. The S caps the peaks either way, so drive buys harmonics rather than level. Dry/wet is the blend: at nothing what came in, at everything only the shaped copy, and in between both at once with nothing between them to smear one against the other — which is what lets a little of it sit under a clean sound rather than replace it.
